Clay Guida has been forced to withdraw from a planned April meeting with Chad Mendes, according to Sherdog.com. The two were expected to meet at UFC On FOX: Henderson Vs. Melendez on April 20.It remains unknown if the UFC will be able to find a new opponent for Mendes, who has had issues with fighters getting hurt ahead of facing him. Last year, he was set to meet Hacran Dias, but ended up fighting Yaotzin Meza.
Earlier this year, the former No. 1 contender was scheduled to battle Manny Gamburyan, but Mendes was forced off the card completely after no replacement could be found.
The injury to Guida was not made known in the report.
