Tamina Snuka beat Naomi. All the women involved in the seven-on-seven Survivor Series elimination tag team match were at ringside. Naomi’s fellow cast members from Total Divas accompanied her to ring while the non-cast members accompanied Tamina to ringside. Divas champion AJ Lee came out with her ankle taped and limped around the ring. The announcers (Miz and Josh Matthews) claimed AJ was supposed to be in the match originally so Tamina apparently subbed for her. Although spoilers listed this as a lumberjill match, it was never billed as such on the show and the women at ringside were just part of the build to Survivor Series rather than acting in the lumberjill role.
In the match itself, some of the work in the ring was sloppy. Likewise, the match seemed laid out to have psychology but it just came off like a collection of moves. Early on, Tamina whipped Naomi in a corner and Naomi tried to slip through the ropes to the apron but got somewhat hung up. So, Tamina had to wait a moment to charge towards here, which looked awkward. From the apron, Naomi did a sunset flip for a nearfall. Tamina quickly cut off her momentum and gained the advantage. Naomi tried to fire up again but Tamina cut her off with a clothesline. Eventually, Naomi reversed the advantage after a flip into a clothesline. Naomi grounded Tamina with a front facelock until Tamina got to her feet and backed Naomi in a corner to break the hold. Tamina missed a charge in the corner and Naomi hit a dropkick. Naomi went back to a front facelock then applied a wristlock before using a firewoman’s carry takedown. Still, Tamina reversed the momentum again to regain control. Tamina clotheslined Naomi over the top rope to the floor. All the women had a stare down before a commercial.
After the break, Tamina had Naomi grounded with a chinlock that Naomi escaped with a snap mare. Tamina cut her off by kicking a leg out from underneath her. Naomi sold the leg as Tamina briefly worked it over. Naomi ran into a back elbow and Tamina grounded her with another chinlock. Tamina continued to get heat on Naomi. After catching Tamina with a monkey flip, Naomi attempted a brief comeback but was cut off. Tamina plays a good monster heel and utilizes facial expressions well. Eventually, Naomi made a comeback after flipping out of suplex and hitting a shining wizard then a jumping legdrop. Naomi did a baseball slide out of the ring when Tamina went to whip her into the ropes. All the divas at ringside began to brawl for no apparent reason other than they have a match on Sunday and it was time for the finish. The brawling distracted Naomi and Tamina knocked her off the apron on to a pile of divas. Naomi went to the top turnbuckle and dove off with a crossbody only to walk into a superkick (referred to by Miz as a “savat kick” which is quite the old school reference). Then, Tamina covered Naomi for the pin.
Afterwards, a video package showed highlights of John Cena’s triumphant return and world title victory over Alberto Del Rio. Also, it showcased the ensuing feud and Del Rio supposedly injuring Cena’s arm. They are having a match on Sunday in Cena’s hometown if anybody was unaware. Del Rio vows to regain his title and embarrass Cena in his hometown. Good luck with all that.
Alberto Del Rio beat Santino Marella. Santino did a kick and a leg sweep to no one but an imaginary opponent. Del Rio just stood there. I guess that was supposed to be funny. Alberto whipped Santino into the ropes but Santino did a cartwheel and hulked up (before ever even locking up). Alberto just kicked him in the chest and started to pummel him before applying an armbar. Santino fought free and got knocked down by a couple headbutts. Santino tried to nip up but failed and Alberto stomped away at him. Alberto missed a charge after an Irish whip and Santino did an arm drag to an imaginary opponent which allowed Del Rio to deliver a dropkick. Santino made a short comeback after he escaped a headlock. Del Rio sidestepped a splash in the corner and delivered a running enzuigiri in the same corner. Santino fought out of an armbar only to get caught with a delayed tilt-a-whirl slam. Santino did a nip up and used a hip toss then went for a splash after hitting the ropes. Del Rio got his knees up to block the splash then he hit a superkick and signaled for his submission finisher. Alberto applied the cross armbreaker and Santino tapped out.
Following the match, a video package hyped the WWE title match at Survivor Series (Big Show vs. Randy Orton). The hype video made the storyline seem like it made sense, which is quite the feat because the story has more holes in it than a fishing net.
Fandango (with Summer Rae) beat Kofi Kingston. They did some quick chain wrestling at the start until Fandango started throwing punches. After taking an Irish whip, Kofi caught Fandango with a head scissors takeover. Fandango bailed out of the ring and pitched a fit. Kofi teased doing a dive to the outside then held up when Fandango moved out of range. Fandango snapped Kofi’s neck on the top rope and gained the advantage. Kofi made a comeback after a leapfrog and a back kick. Moments later, Fandango used a side suplex to regain the momentum. Fandango went to the top rope but Kofi bailed out and went under the ring. Fandango looked under the ring as Kofi popped out on another side and Kofi did a springboard clothesline off the steps on the same side as the broadcast booth. From the booth, Miz mocked Kofi and they glared at each other since they have a match on Sunday during the pre-show.
After a commercial break, Fandango escaped an overhead wristlock then Kofi blocked an Irish whip. Kofi charged into a corner for a splash and Fandango backdropped him over the ropes to the floor where Kofi took a bump off the steps and sold his arm. Fandango rammed Kofi into the ring apron and rolled him back in the ring. Fandango grounded Kofi with a wristlock. Kofi went for a sunset flip but Fandango blocked it and went back to work on the arm. Fandango got heat on Kofi until Kofi used a jawbreaker to escape a wristlock. Fandango charged into a corner and ran into a back elbow. They briefly went back-and-forth before Kofi made a comeback that led to a boom drop. Fandango ducked the trouble in paradise finisher and Kofi hit a double springboard crossbody off the top for a nearfall. Fandango got thrown over the top rope to ringside and he sidestepped a plancha from Kofi. Kofi reversed a whip and bieled Fandango over the broadcast booth into the lap of Miz. Kofi went to dive over the ropes back into the ring as Miz yelled at him from ringside. Kofi changed direction in mid-air and dropkicked Miz through the ropes. However, the distraction allowed Fandango to use a schoolboy for the pin.
