Cub Swanson didn't make a push to become the next contender to the UFC featherweight title despite securing his fifth consecutive victory.Behind a nasty right-hand and subsequent punishment, Swanson finished Dennis Siver at UFC 162: Silva Vs. Weidman Saturday night.
However, instead of calling out either UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo or his challenger, Chan Sung Jung, Swanson left it up to the fans.
"I gotta let the fans decide," Swanson said. "I gotta win them over to get a real title shot. If the fans love me, it will happen."
Swanson (20-5) was very emotional as his name was read as the winner. He has now won four of his last five via finish.
Some have questioned his inclusion in the title talk, though, based on his 2009 eight-second loss to Aldo in the WEC.
