Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Liz Carmouche for the UFC female bantamweight championship
It's main event time, and history time, as females fight for the first time in the UFC. Ronda Rousey (6-0) defends her UFC title against Liz Carmouche (7-2). Veteran referee "Big" John McCarthy will serve as the only man inside the Octagon. Both fighters had plenty of emotion on their faces as they walked to the cage.
Round 1: Rousey comes right out, closes the distance and is clinching Carmouche up against the fence. Rousey gets the takedown up against the fence, and Carmouche takes her back. Carmouche is looking to secure a rear-naked choke, but Rousey is blocking the body triangle attempt. Carmouche is cranking on the face, and Rousey shakes her off. That was a serious submission hold by Carmouche that Rousey was able to fight off. Her face started turning red. Rousey drops down, is in side control. Carmouche is looking to flip her way to the back again. Rousey with a headlock and is throwing lefts unguarded. Carmouche attempting a triangle from the bottom, but Rousey rolls over into armbar position as we go under a minute. Carmouche rolling and holding tightly to avoid it. Carmouche is not letting Rousey break her arms apart, but she does and scores the submission with just seconds left in the round.

Dan Henderson vs. Lyoto Machida
The co-main event will determine the No. 1 contender in the UFC's light heavyweight division, as ex-Strikeforce and PRIDE champion Dan Henderson (29-8) takes on former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida (18-3). Herb Dean is the referee for this one.
Round 1: Henderson with a brace on his left ankle and a wrap on his right knee. He's looking to pepper the leg with some kicks at the start. Big inside leg kick from Henderson connects and he rushes in but is unable to unload the right hand. Crowd is definitely into this fight, from the entrances to the first few minutes, the Honda Center sounds louder than it has all night. Chant of "USA" starts for "Hendo." Machida remains strong in his karate stance, and fakes a big kick. Counter by Machida, as he moves away from the right. Machida with a right as Henderson comes in with a kick, and he also misses a big right hand. This time, Hendo catches him with a right and clinches, but Machida gets away. They tie up as the round comes to an end, and it's Machida who gets the takedown and a little punishment as the bell sounds.

Round 2: Kick to the body by Machida stops an attack by Henderson. Front kick to the face lands from Machida, and Henderson is unable to land anything in retaliation. Henderson stalking now, trying to cut the Octagon off and trap Machida. Machida hits with a knee as Hendo drops for a takedown attempt. Good kick to the body lands from Machida, and Henderson answers. Henderson fires off a pair of big rights, but gets blocked.

Round 3: Henderson is just standing in the middle of the Octagon now after chasing Machida for two rounds. It appears he wants to make him bring the action now. Machida fires off a nasty kick to the body. Machida misses and Henderson scores a takedown and is on top position. Machida tying up Hendo, not allowing him to unleash much offense and force a stand up from the referee. Machida gets out with just under two minutes to go. Henderson playing Machida's style now, waiting for him to come in and counter. Hendo blocks a high kick, and misses on a huge right hand.

Urijah Faber vs. Ivan Menjivar
We head to the bantamweight ranks for a rematch from 2006, as former WEC champion Urijah Faber (26-6) takes on Ivan Menjivar (25-9). Faber earned the win via DQ back in 2006. The referee will be Jason Herzog.
Round 1: Menjivar with a big overhand right that catches Faber on the back of the head. Faber unloads with his own left, and Menjivar scores a huge takedown. Faber rolls him over to his back and is in side control. Faber working to tie up his arms and unload with some ground-and-pound. Full-guard for Menjivar, who is likely looking to trap an arm and lock in a submission from his back. Faber with a big left that gets through. Elbow from Faber connects, and another, followed by a third - all from inside the guard. Menjivar gets up, but Faber spiders his way onto his back and has his legs locked with 30 seconds left. Faber going for a standing rear-naked choke and he gets it, forcing Menjivar to submit.

Court McGee vs. Josh Neer
Back to the welterweight division, as Court McGee (13-3) debuts at 170 pounds against Josh Neer (33-12-1). John McCarthy will be the referee.
Round 1: McGee throwing solid combos, landing everything on the chin of Neer. Neer with a powerful leg kick that nearly takes McGee to the ground. Cut on Neer's face already from the offensive attack by McGee. Halfway through the round and "The Crusher" has landed 42 strikes already. Straight left connects by McGee, who is picking him apart, as Neer continues to tell him to come and get him. Right by McGee, straight left and a knee inside the clinch. Neer is doubling over from a liver shot, and McGee notices and hits it again, dropping Neer. McGee has him on the ground and is unloading, but is unable to get the finish as the round ends.

Round 2: Neer did not look like he wanted to continue the fight in between rounds. Seemed very discontent after McGee landed over 100 strikes in the round. McGee, again, landing everything - strikes, kicks. Neer throws a big right but misses. Neer appears to be finding a bit of his offense, landing some big shots. Trio of jabs connect by Neer, as McGee starts defending a little more. Big right by Neer, and McGee answers back to the body. Neer working the body now, landing a big left that forces McGee to fight back. Another left by Neer and he taunts McGee, telling him to come and get some.

Round 3: McGee's corner told him that Neer's smiles were just a way of hiding the pain inflicted. We shall see going forward. McGee with a combo, and another, as Neer fires off a powerful right. McGee is over 200 significant strikes landed in the fight with three-plus minutes left. McGee gets a leg and scores the first takedown of the fight. He takes the back, throws in a hook, and Neer is able to get to his feet. Another takedown by McGee, who avoids a leg lock attempt by Neer. McGee with a hook in and on the back with a minute left, breaking Neer down. McGee went for the choke, but was unable to get it and settled for some ground-and-pound to finish the round.

Josh Koscheck vs. Robbie Lawler
We kick-start the pay-per-view main card in the welterweight division, as former No. 1 contender Josh Koscheck (17-6) returns from a 10-month layoff to face Robbie Lawler (19-9). Lawler is fighting in the UFC again for the first time since 2004. The referee will be Herb Dean.
Round 1: Lawler with a smirk, and Koscheck comes out right after him. Lawler backs Koscheck up against the fence, but "Kos" scores with a quick takedown. Lawler sweeps and gets to his feet, though Koscheck retains control and shifts to working a leg for another takedown. Some blood pouring from the nose of Kos, who gets the takedown. So far, this match has been just like the previous one between Lavar Johnson and Brendan Schaub. Lawler catches him with a sharp knee, and sprawls out of the takedown. Lawler catches Kos, pounces and finishes this one off quickly. Koscheck appears to be upset about the stoppage, as it did some fast but he was not defending himself at all as Lawler unloaded with several lefts and rights.

Brendan Schaub vs. Lavar Johnson
Our prelim main event fight is up next, as heavyweights Brendan Schaub (8-3) and Lavar Johnson (17-6) finally square off. They were originally set to meet in December, but an injury forced Johnson out. The referee will be Jason Herzog.
Round 1: Johnson throws a huge right, but misses and Schaub scores a takedown. "The Hybrid" quickly into side control, but is only able to stick in half-guard as Johnson traps a leg. Schaub grabs a guillotine as Johnson tries to get up. Johnson firing off with huge rights to the face while being choked in an arm-triangle. Schaub unable to secure the submission, as he had to get away from the rights being thrown by Johnson off his back. That was an interesting situation, as Schaub had a side choke locked in, but Johnson was unleashing with rights. Back to their feet and Johnson is quick to attack, throwing a pair of big knees and getting a takedown with a trip. Schaub sweeps himself into half-guard and out of harms way.

Round 2: Schaub with a takedown and into half-guard, seeking another head-and-arm choke. Not much action, as Johnson is doing a good job of keeping Schaub from advancing, and the ref steps in to stand them back up. Johnson with a huge left, and Schaub goes for a takedown but is denied. Knee to the chin by Schaub, and he scores with a takedown. The Hybrid remains on top, but isn't doing much damage and is constantly being told by the ref to keep working.

Round 3: Big miss by Schaub, and Johnson hammers away but cannot avoid the takedown. Quickly, the crowd starts booing as the match goes to the ground. Johnson appears to be talking trash to Schaub, as the ref steps in and stands them up. Blood pouring from the face of Schaub, who quickly takes Johnson down. Schaub finally gets the mount position with just under three minutes to go. No damage done, and he goes back to half-guard. Johnson fighting off his back, but Schaub attempts a gator roll choke, and moves back to half guard. It wasn't the most exciting of fights, but Schaub did what he had to do to survive.
