Sean Pierson vs. Kenny Robertson
Round 1: Robertson comes flying in, throwing lefts and rights and shooting for a takedown. He's denied, though, and eats a stiff right for it. Another lunging takedown attempt and Pierson easily stuffs it. Pierson tries for a front-choke and that allows Robertson to get the takedown and move to the back, securing a body triangle - the move of the night, so far - and some punches. Pierson remains calm and uses a nice escape to get out and look for a front choke. Stiff right by Pierson, who appears to have his striking rhythm down. Robertson, though, scores with another takedown. Cut under the right eye of Pierson. Not sure when it happened, but Pierson fires back with a big shot to end the round.
Round 2: Robertson throwing a lot of kicks, but not much pop on them. He is pushing the pace, but eats a combination and looks a little wobbly from the Pierson offense. Pierson connecting with everything he throws now, as Robertson is taking several deep breathes and looks winded. Head kick lands by Pierson, and Robertson shoots for a takedown.
Round 3: I've got this all tied up heading to the third, but you never know how the judges see it. Pair of rights land by Robertson, and an elbow flings Pierson's head way back. Robertson remains on the attack, throwing everything he can. Pierson drops down to his knees. That elbow was just incredible, and how Pierson remained upright I have no idea. Robertson controlling the back now. Robertson mounts the back with two-plus minutes left and has both hooks in. Robertson just pounding on Pierson, but not landing any significant enough strikes to finish this one. Another choke attempt by Robertson but Pierson survives.
Sean Pierson def. Kenny Robertson via majority decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-28)
