One of two bantamweight fights set for the FS1 prelims is up, as Mitch Gagnon (9-2) takes on Dustin Kimura (10-0). The referee will be Yves Lavigne. Gagnon, an Ontario native, rebounded from a loss to Bryan Caraway by topping Walel Watson recently, while Kimura earned a submission win in his Octagon debut.

Kimura has badly damaged the lead leg, but is also bleeding profusely out of his nose area. Gagnon clinches and lands, but Kimura comes back with a counter-hook of his own. Kimura lands a stiff left to the body that forces Gagnon to double-over, but as Kimura comes flying in with a knee, Gagnon lands a takedown. Kimura going for a heel hook, but Gagnon gets out of it and hammers with a shot while going into the mount. Gagnon now to the body with a hook, and follows up with a left-right combo to the head. Straight right damages the eye of Kimura, who’s face is a bloody, bruising mess. Gagnon clinches in a guillotine and he goes out cold. No tap, and the ref steps in, noticing Kimura is out.
