If you are a fully clothed robber, seeking sanctuary in a nudist colony may not be the most well-conceived escape plan.
Homeless man Milton Hodges, 20, of Florida, allegedly jumped a wall Thursday night to get into the Cypress Bay Nudist Resort after robbing a nearby Lowe’s home improvement store, the Orlando Sentinelreports.
Hodges claimed to be browsing for mango and banana trees. In lieu of paying for his plant products, the Floridian allegedly held a scissor against the neck of a clerk. He then fled and jumped over the wall of the nudist resort nearby. Once inside, he reportedly threatened colony residents with a knife and jacked a golf cart from a security guard.
As the Sun Sentinel reports, “as one of the only folks wearing clothing, Hodges was easily spotted by deputies who arrested him at gunpoint.”
Hodges had a long rap sheet prior to his nudist colony intrusion. He has been on the run since April 1 after he allegedly robbed a Kangaroo Express Store in his hometown of Green Cove Springs, Florida. Hodges faces a $250,000 bond for that charge. At age 18, the Floridian was sentenced to 28 months in prison for armed robbery and attacking a victim with a can of Pepsi.
Hodges is currently being held without bail in the Osceola County Jail and faces at least 10 felony charges.
