Iaquinta, who suffered a pair of knee injuries since falling in the finals of The Ultimate Fighter to Michael Chiesa last year, controlled the action with his effective striking.
“We go to war in the gym, team Serra-Longo, that’s it,” Iaquinta said.
After having to wait on the sidelines to finally fight, “Ragin” made it known that he wants to get back inside the Octagon as soon as possible.
“That’s the first one,” he said. “Be back soon. Let’s do it again.”
Couture, the son of former UFC champion Randy Couture, survived constant pressure from Iaquinta and several big shots.
“I felt like I hit him pretty hard; I just kept coming and tried to stay on him,” Iaquinta said. “I felt I pressed the action the whole time.”
