Alexander Gustafsson was the biggest threat to light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, though he still took a decision loss at UFC 165. While Jones will defend the belt next against Glover Teixeira, Gustafsson isn’t done with the champ.
“I’m not happy with the way everything ended and I want that belt,” said Gustaffson on The MMA Hour. “That’s my big goal. I will have my rematch and I will get that belt one day and he knows it too. So, I can’t wait.”
UFC president Dana White stated another strong performance by Gustafsson and the Jones rematch will be booked.
Jones takes on Teixeira in early 2014 and Gustafsson has no return date, but the promotion wants to book him on a Sweden card around the same time.
