UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis and Benson Henderson will never be friends. That doesn’t mean they don’t respect each other, according to the champion.
“Me and Ben, we both respect each other,” said Pettis on The MMA Hour. “We’re not friends. We’ll probably never be friends. We’ll probably fight each other again, but we both respect each other enough to give credit and where credit is due.”
At UFC 164, Pettis beat Henderson for the second time. This time, he earned a first round submission to take the title. After Pettis won the belt, Henderson apparently congratulated him backstage.
Pettis returns at UFC on FOX 9 opposite Josh Thomson in the main event. The title fight comes from the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, CA.
