UFC heavyweight contender Antonio Silva is taking his decision to call out light heavyweight fighter Thiago Silva very seriously.So seriously in fact, "Bigfoot" is planning to meet with his doctor to see if he can make the drop to 205 pounds. Silva typically weighs in right around the heavyweight limit of 265.
After Thiago Silva scored a victory over Rafael Cavalcante recently, Antonio Silva called him out. He mentioned the smaller fighter moving up to heavyweight, but Thiago Silva declined.
"I used to visit his house and he did mine, I was something of a brother to him and he simply stabbed me in the back and cheated me," said Antonio Silva, in an interview with Fighters Only. "He said I'm upset because he left (American Top Team), but he knows it's not because of that why I'm mad. I thought he was a coward.
Bigfoot Silva added that he will "personally attend the doctors to see if I am able to lose weight without spoiling my health." He also stated that several other fighters, such as Anderson Silva and Dan Henderson, "perform at different weight classes."
"I will drop weight to make this fight for sure. All I want to do is just fight him because words won't make him change," he said. "He's mentally sick, we're completely different people. I am a family guy. I respect my father, mother, wife, I treat my friends well, without pulling their legs, and I don't take drugs."
Thiago Silva has previously had two victories reversed to no-contests because of failed drug tests.
