UFC president Dana White said if Belfort can get past Dan Henderson in their light heavyweight meeting, a title shot is coming for the Brazilion.
“Vitor’s got to win the fight,” said White. “This isn’t one of those fights where he’s moving up to light heavyweight to fight Jon Jones. He’s fighting another 185 pounder. They just decided not to cut weight, to fight at 205.”
It’s a rematch from their 2006 PRIDE encounter. Henderson took the decision win that time.
Belfort has stopped Michael Bisping and Luke Rockhold this year. Both fights never saw the third round.
