The Season 8 welterweight tournament is finally ending, after a lengthy delay. The finals has Douglas Lima and Ben Saunders once again meeting. The first encounter had Lima knockout Saunders in the Season 5 tournament finals. Lima is preparing for the same outcome.

“He has evolved a lot since, but I know I’m better and more confident now,” said Lima to MMA Fighting. “I never underestimate an opponent and I expect a tough fight.”

The rematch was originally pulled in March as Lima suffered a broken hand. Of his last 10 fights from the MFC and Bellator, Lima has only been defeated by champion Ben Askren.

It’s Saunders’ third tournament and he’s yet to win one. He made quick work of Raul Amaya in the semifinals.

They headline Bellator 100, with the winner getting a welterweight title shot. It’s from the Grand Canyon University Arena in Arizona and the main card airs live on Spike TV later today, September 20.
