It's been a rough stretch for Bryan Caraway and Miesha Tate, as both fighters were defeated in recent weeks. However, after accepting a bout with Johnny Bedford on just five days notice, Caraway ended the losing streak, defeating Bedford via submission at UFC 159: Jones Vs. Sonnen.
"I was focused on finishing the fight because I'm so sick of bad decisions and stoppages," Caraway said. "I think I got a bad call against Takeya Mizugaki and Miesha got a horrible call in that stoppage two weeks ago."
Tate was defeated by Cat Zingano, losing out on a future title shot and spot on The Ultimate Fighter as a coach.
"I wanted to erase those memories and put a smile on both our faces with a win," I think I did that."
Caraway also added that he thinks he may have set a record taking a fight on five days notice. The two were teammates on TUF, but he said, "I thought I got the better of him in practice so I was eager to get in there."
