UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and No. 1 contender Junior dos Santos will likely settle their score this October in Houston, TX.
A specific date and venue have yet to be finalized. UFC President Dana White revealed the news during Thursday's UFC 161 pre-fight scrum.
Velasquez (12-1) and dos Santos (16-2) have met twice before, with fighter claiming one victory over the other, albeit in far different manners.
Dos Santos infamously knocked out Velasquez in 64 seconds at the UFC's first-ever nationally televised broadcast on FOX. A little over a year later, Velasquez returned the favor, seizing back his belt with a brutal 25-minute sustained beating of dos Santos at UFC 155.
Since then both heavyweights have earned one victory apiece. Velasquez stopped Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva via TKO to defend his title in just 81 seconds at UFC 160, while dos Santos knocked out Mark Hunt with a highlight-reel third-round spinning wheel kick at the same event.
