UFC president Dana White was very outspoken about Saturday's co-main event between Rory MacDonald and Jake Ellenberger at UFC On FOX: Johnson Vs. Moraga. MacDonald earned a decision victory, but the Seattle crowd was very vocal in their disapproval of the action - or lack there of - and White agreed.
"I thought Jake Ellenberger did nothing at all. Literally, did nothing," said White, on the FUEL TV post-fight show. "Rory stood outside and did just enough to win. He didn't try to finish, he didn't try to do anything."
Some wondered if the winner would be poised to compete for the UFC welterweight title with a victory, but White wasn't in that group anymore.
On MacDonald, who was called out by Ellenberger several times in the lead-up to the bout, White said "you wanna prove you are one of the best in the world? You didn't convince anybody."
As for the future, Robbie Lawler could be next. Lawler scored an impressive finish of Bobby Voelker on the main card for his second straight finish since re-joining the promotion.
"Maybe," said White, when asked about pairing MacDonald and Lawler next. "Maybe."
