UFC president Dana White talked all last week about the pre-event hype surrounding UFC 157: Rousey Vs. Carmouche, and how he expected the show to deliver for the promotion and women's MMA.After watching Ronda Rousey survive a nasty submission attempt vs. Liz Carmouche in the main event, and go on to lock in her seventh first round victory, White was beaming with joy during the post-fight show on FUEL TV.
"There's no doubt about it: this was one of the biggest moments in sports," White stated. "I've never had so much media around one event.SportsCenter was live tweeting about it."
White, though, was also disgusted by some of the things he saw on social media sites such as Twitter in reference to female fighters, saying, "But in 2012, I never realized the hate some guys have about women in sports. It's sickening."
Those "haters," though, couldn't deter White on this night as the UFC held its first-ever female fight.
"The main event was one of the best fights of the night," the UFC boss said.
