Glover Teixeira isn't wishing harm to Alexander Gustafsson, but if the light heavyweight No. 1 contender does suffer an injury there's no need to look for an alternative. Though Teixeira is planning for Ryan Bader, he's willing to take on champion Jon Jones at any moment."My skills and my confidence, I'm ready to fight for the title tomorrow," said Teixeira to MMA Junkie. "I'm ready to get the title. If Gustafsson gets hurt – and I hope he doesn't, I don't want that for anybody – but I'm always there. If I don't get hurt in the Ryan Bader fight, I'll fight Jon Jones."
Gustafsson vs. Jones closes UFC 165. It's September 21 from the Air Canada Centre.
Teixeira continued his impressive undefeated streak by taking his last four for the UFC. Bader is 3-1 the past two years with the lone defeat from former champion Lyoto Machida.
They headlined UFC on FS1 3 on September 4 from Brazil's Mineirinho Arena.
