UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre holds his future in his own hands, according to UFC president Dana White. While most believed St-Pierre vs. Johny Hendricks would be next for GSP, White stated that he has a phone call scheduled with the Canadian for later on Thursday.
"Maybe he wants to fight Anderson (Silva) if Anderson (defeats Chris Weidman)," White said, during his media scrum for UFC On FOX: Henderson Vs. Melendez. "If Georges says to me, 'I want to fight Anderson Silva,' you think I'm going to go, 'No you're fighting Johny Hendricks.'"
St-Pierre (24-2) and Silva (33-4) have been rumored for several years, but talks have heated up in recent months. White added that GSP could hold his title while facing "The Spider," and would be able to move back down win or lose vs. the Brazilian.
