
After a 13 year MMA career, Jason MacDonald is done fighting."I've had a great MMA career," said MacDonald to MMAFighting.com. "I have traveled, met great people and have done things I would have never dreamed of through MMA. It's been an honor to be with the UFC over the years, but it's now time to move on."
MacDonald has been with the UFC since 2006 and compiled a record of 7-7 for them. After going 5-5, he was released from the UFC in 2009. He mounted several wins and was rehired the following year. He took just one win out of his last four fights, with each not leaving the opening round.
Tom Lawlor knocked him out in 50 seconds in his last fight in May. MacDonald took four honors in his career and competed as a middleweight.
MacDonald cited being 37-years-old and wanting to watch his four kids grow up as reasons for calling it quits. As for future income, he's going to shift focus to his gym CrossFit.
