Johny Hendricks recorded 12 takedowns and defeated former interim UFC welterweight champion Carlos Condit Saturday night at UFC 158: St-Pierre Vs. Diaz, securing himself a future title shot.Hendricks, who improved to 15-1 in his career and 10-1 inside the Octagon, made sure to let everyone inside the Bell Centre know he wants Georges St-Pierre. GSP faced Nick Diaz in the main event for the UFC welterweight title.
"GSP, if you win tonight, I want to see you here in five months and fight," Hendricks said. "Guess what? I earned it. GSP, please give me that. If not, I'll fly to your house, hire a ref and we'll do something about it."
Hendricks wasn't able to finish Condit, but he knew that going in. "The Natural Born Killer" has never been finished in 35 professional bouts.
"Carlos is tougher than hell," Hendricks stated. "I told you guys we would steal the show and we did. I've seen that guy get hit by some tough dudes and I knew I wasn't going to be able to put him out."
Hendricks suffered an injury to his left hand, likely breaking it while chasing down Condit along the cage, he said.
