Josh Barnett isn’t giving Roy Nelson much of a chance when he takes on Daniel Cormier.
“I absolutely believe in D.C., I know he’s going to win this fight,” said Barnett on Sherdog Radio. “I think his skill-set will off-balance Roy. I think he’s in better shape. I think he’s got more in his gas tank and he’s quicker. Roy’s not taking him down. I just don’t see it happening.”
Nelson and Cormier are set as heavyweight. Before taking a decision defeat to Stipe Miocic, Nelson had three straight wins via first round knockout. Cormier is the final Strikeforce grand prix champ and made his UFC debut by defeating Frank Mir.
Barnett returned to the UFC after 10 years and took a round one win from Mir. Some called the stoppage early.
Nelson-Cormier is the co-main event of UFC 166 on October 19. It’s from the Toyota Center in Houston, TX.
