Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos didn't sit on a fight he had in hand. Instead, "Cigano" delivered a spinning wheel kick for the first time in a bout and finished Mark Hunt.Dos Santos, the No. 1 ranked contender, likely kept himself in that spot by taking Hunt apart.
"(Hunt) is very dangerous, I have a lot of respect for him," dos Santos said. "He is a nice guy; I like people like him."
Following his loss last year to Cain Velasquez for the belt, dos Santos stated that he felt great and "what I most want (is a title shot). I want that so bad. I believe I can be the champion again."
Dos Santos, with under a minute left in the third round, landed a left and followed up with a spinning kick that dropped Hunt. He pounced on the fallen heavyweight with a right and the bout was all over.
After the win, dos Santos jumped out of the cage and shook the hand of Mike Tyson, as the former boxing world champion was in attendance Octagon-side.
