Mark Munoz took the opportunity Saturday night following UFC 162: Silva Vs. Weidman to make it known that he was ready for a rematch with the new UFC middleweight champion.Munoz, who bested Tim Boetsch on the card, told everyone in attendance that he was prepared to face Chris Weidman if Anderson Silva didn't want to invoke his rematch clause.
After working his way into contention, Munoz was finished by Weidman last year. He proceeded to send himself deep into depression after the loss before returning Saturday to topple Boetsch.
"You saw the real Mark Munoz (Saturday)," he said during the post-fight show on FUEL TV. "Having said that, I want that belt and I definitely think I can beat Chris Weidman."
Many believe Weidman-Silva 2 will take place before any other middleweight steps in, but "The Spider" seemed uninterested in fighting the new champion again.
