Nate Diaz and his decision to lash out on Bryan Caraway via Twitter has not only hampered him in terms of competing soon, but it has hit his wallet, as well. The UFC announced that Diaz has been suspended for 90 days and fined him $20,000. The former No. 1 contender to the lightweight title used a derogatory word in reference to Caraway earlier this week.
"The language used in his tweet was regrettable, offensive and inconsistent with the values and culture of the organization, and is not tolerated," the statement read.
Diaz would be eligible to return in August, a few days before the promotion debuts on FOX Sports 1.
