Bellator has decided to release Paul Daley and Maiquel Falcao, who are both dealing with separate legal issues at the moment.A Bellator spokesman confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Thursday.
Both fighters are free to sign with any promotion.
"Both fighters are now able to fight wherever they wish and for whoever they wish," said Bellator director of communications Anthony Mazzuca. "We have retained no matching rights to either fighter. We wish them the best in their future endeavors."
Weeks ago Falcao was involved in a brawl in Brazil. His teammate Kaue Mena was left in a coma from the fight. Falcao met trouble in 2002 for an incident where a female was hurt. Falcao competed four times in Bellator, losing a middleweight championship match in February.
Daley recently pleaded guilty to one count of assault by beating, and two counts of obstructing or resisting a constable in executing their duties. As a result, Daley has had trouble obtaining a visa to enter the United States. He took a first round win in July 2012 in his only Bellator appearance.
