Ross Pearson is a perfect 2-0 since returning to lightweight, finishing Ryan Couture Saturday at UFC On FUEL TV: Mousasi Vs. Latifi. Pearson scored a second round TKO despite suffering a foot injury prior to the bout even starting."I think I broke my foot warming up, hitting pads," said Pearson, when asked about a noticeable limp after the fight.
Pearson was patient and stuck to his plan, catching a kick attempt by Couture and taking him down. The former Ultimate Fighter winner pounced from there, landing several shots before dropping his opponent with a nasty left hook.
"As I'm getting older, I'm getting wiser," Pearson said. "I've had a lot of fights and I've become more patient. Practice makes perfect."
Couture was making his Octagon debut after several fights in Strikeforce. He is the son of former UFC champion and hall of famer Randy Couture.
