UFC has signed two big title fights for UFC 169. The first features UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz (19-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) returning for a unification fight with interim champion Renan Barao (31-1 MMA, 6-0 UFC). The second is featherweight champion Jose Aldo (23-1 MMA, 5-0 UFC) defending against Ricardo Lamas (13-2 MMA, 4-0 UFC). The latter fight was revealed as one that Dana White said the company was "talking about" but it is now official.

The event takes place on February 1 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The annual Super Bowl weekend show usually happens in Las Vegas, but instead will be in New Jersey this year, which will host the NFL game at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.
