UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson put on a fight that could go down as “Fight of the Year,” so obviously it won “Fight of the Night” at UFC 165 Saturday evening.
Jones claimed a decision victory, earning the bout on all three scorecards. Both fighters were sent to the hospital after their 25-minute battle. Each won $50,000.
The “Knockout of the Night” went to Renan Barao, as the interim UFC bantamweight champion successfully defeated Eddie Wineland in the co-main event. Mitch Gagnon picked up the “Submission of the Night.”
Both Barao and Gagnon also won $50,000.
The attendance was announced at 15,504 with a live gate of $1.9 million.
