Georges St-Pierre and Johny Hendricks have been vocal against the use of PEDs and were open to VADA testing. Now, the champ is taking Hendricks on his word as he's offered to pay for the drug testing.
"I'm ready to pay it myself because I'm the champion," said St-Pierre to MMA Fighting. "All from my purse, I paid for the tests because I'm the champion. That's why I'm ready. I'm ready to do it. That's a point I want to make."
Neither fighter has ever tested positive for anything post-fight, though Nick Diaz claims St-Pierre uses the juice.
St-Pierre will look for title defense number nine when they meet. If St-Pierre leaves the champion, he breaks the record for most UFC wins with 19. He's currently tied with Matt Hughes.
Hendricks has been asking for this title shot for a while now. For the WEC and UFC, he's only lost once compared to his 12 wins. Three of his last six wins have barley gone a minute.
UFC 167 is considered the 20th anniversary show for the promotion. It comes from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV on November 16.
