UFC president Dana White had previously stated that UFC On FS1: Shogun Vs. Sonnen would be a go for August. Now, the UFC boss is confirming that everything is set.It had been reported that issues regarding international fighters competing in Massachusetts could cause problems. The athletic commission in the state requires fighters have a social security number, and those not living in the U.S. do not.
The list includes main eventer Mauricio "Shogun" Rua and co-main event fighter Alistair Overeem, along with a slew of others.
"We ended up getting everything straightened out," said White, in an interview with the Boston Herald. "The fights will happen. The card will be great. It's going to be good."
White added that there is "always something. It literally never ends.....we're pretty used to dealing with this stuff."
Rua will meet Chael Sonnen in a five-round light heavyweight battle, while Overeem takes on Travis Browne.
