Ahead of the first-ever female fight in the UFC, it would appear that the bantamweight division has reached double digits. Currently, six fighters are known to be signed, but UFC president Dana White confirmed four more have contracts.Ronda Rousey will defend her title against Liz Carmouche this evening at UFC 157: Rousey Vs. Carmouche, while Miesha Tate and Cat Zingano have agreed to meet later this year.
Sara McMann and Alexis Davis have also been made official to the roster, but the four remaining slots are unknown.
"The 135-pound division is stacked with talent," said White, during a Q&A session on Friday. "We already signed 10 girls, (and) we're signing five more. Over the next year, we're gonna be building this 135-pound division."
White declined to name the fighters, but one would have to expect some will come from Invicta Fighting Championships, the all-female promotion that has produced several elite fighters.
