UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez is a tireless worker, continuing to put in long hours inside the gym to better himself.
Velasquez will look to secure another successful title defense when he faces Junior dos Santos for a third time this Saturday at UFC 166.
“I’ve improved from the last fight (a win over Antonio Silva). I looked at the last fight and I’ve worked on some things,” said Velasquez, during a recent interview on UFC Tonight.
Of course, Velasquez also knows dos Santos has changed his game up, adding, “I’m expecting different stuff from him. Our game plan is the same; I have to do the same stuff I did in the last fight. I have to keep fighting forward and looking for takedowns.”
While “Cigano” earned the finish in the first meeting, Velasquez claimed his win via decision, controlling the fight for the better part of five rounds.
“I go into every fight thinking it’ll be a hard five rounds back and forth,” he said, “never thinking knockout or submission. If it comes, then I’ll take it.”
We will have Live Coverage Starting at 5:30 CT Saturday (10/19) for UFC 166: Dos Santos Vs. Velasquez 3!
