Former UFC champion Vitor Belfort showed that - TRT or no TRT - he has power in his hands and feet, knocking out Luke Rockhold Saturday night at UFC On FX: Belfort Vs. Rockhold."The Phenom" landed a spinning heel kick that sent Rockhold flying across the cage, following up with several lefts and rights to secure his UFC-record 12th first round finish.
"I am stronger than ever," Belfort said. "Thank everyone, appreciate all the love. I have a great team. All the glory to God."
Belfort (23-10) improved to 2-0 in 2013, adding to his January victory over Michael Bisping. That one came via second round TKO, and coupled with the finish of the former Strikeforce champion, could place him in a future title fight.
Current UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva is set to face Chris Weidman later this year, and Belfort didn't want to make a call-out Saturday night.
"You know, I am here to fight. I don't pick fights; I accept fights," he said. "Fans decide (fights), Dana White (decides fights). I am very happy. I am gonna root for Anderson."
Rockhold (10-2) stated that he "didn't see (the spinning heel kick) coming," and that he gave "kudos" to Belfort.
